Another busy/full day today with many blessings, hearing testimonies of changed lives and God working in so many ways.
After am 8am breakfast we visited the grade 12 English class with teacher Katherine who is Paul and Linda’s daughter. You heard about Paul and Linda yesterday.
The topic for the class today was thinking about a vocation/further education after graduation. Each of us shared what our vocations were or are, and how God has led us into what he had planned for our life, sometimes the path was not straight and we had to wait for his timing. Katherine had told us yesterday about a student who works in clothing sales, but is very shy and doesn’t engage in class. Lorne, having a background in sales, was able to connect with him and engage him and the class in a demonstration of Christian business ethics in marketing. Another student was Interested in hearing how Kevin shows leadership as the boss of his work crew.
It’s been great connecting with the primary children on the school grounds. We were blessed with hugs from the girls and many high-fives.
Shopping was on the agenda for the next when Richard took us to the store to get groceries for the food hampers we will be able to deliver later. Of course we got some delicious Dominican republic coffee to take home too.
During shopping, Kevin and Dell did some jackhammering of cement that needed to be done on the school grounds.
In the afternoon it was off to a public school in Juan Tomas to take part in a Days For Girls distribution by Pro Infancio to 50 girls. It was a real blessing to hear the presentation how God created man and woman, and that cannot be changed despite men’s attempts to change it. And God’s plan and purpose for women as He did. Debbie and Elaine help teaching how to use the kits and distributing them to the girls.
The guys spent that time at the school connecting with students in the yard.
We were then able to deliver one of the food hampers to a needy family that Richard had identified. Back to Fudesa for another delicious dinner by our amazing cooks.
What a great day being loved by these dear humble people.
