The Fudesa Ministry is located in Juan Tomas and works alongside the Iglesia Bíblica en Juan Tomas (IBJT). Richard Acosta and Dario Cruz are local leaders who were raised in the Juan Tomas community. Dario is the president of the ministry and youth pastor at the church, and Richard is Fudesa's treasurer and lead pastor at the IBJT Church.
Fudesa focuses on outreach projects in Juan Tomas and surrounding communities, empowering others by extending the gospel through education, health care, and locally-run construction projects. They have a vision that everyone in the community will have access to quality Christian education, and that leaders will be raised up in the community to improve the livelihoods of all members.
The Ministry operates alongside the local church and focuses on the development of the Juan Tomas community. Spiritual growth is a cornerstone of Fudesa's mission. They invest in people and raise young leaders who desire to serve the Lord and their neighbors in the community and the rest of the Dominican Republic.
The ministry oversees the operations of the private Christian Fountain of Life School. Classes start at preschool and go through grade 12, with over 450 students enrolled and over 40 staff members. There is a medical clinic for community members who otherwise would not have access to health care. They run a program for people dealing with high-blood pressure and diabetes.
The IBJT church community, together with many short-term mission teams from North America, reach out to people in the community. They conduct house improvement projects, provide food hampers, offer prayer ministry, organize Bible school Programs, and provide new housing for families in need. The church members come alongside in serving their neighbours and also reach out to other villages in the Dominican Republic.
