Greetings everyone,
My name is Everlyne Imbenzi Onyango. I am a field partner in Kakamega and Nairobi as well as Siaya district, Kenya for Hungry For Life. I hail from Shikokho village, Kakamega South District, but married in Kisumu District.
I am married to my lovely dear husband George and we are blessed with four children, Chelsea, Hope, Renee and George. We live in Nairobi.
I started my involvement with Hungry For Life way back in 2009 doing their trip logistics for teams when I worked as a trained tour and travel operator. I got fully involved with HFL in June 2016 when I started working with the projects in Kakamega, and then in 2017 in Nairobi and Siaya district.
Since joining HFL I have been able to be in touch with the Voice of Hope Women’s Project in Kakamega and Yogo, the children’s home in Siaya and with Shiphrah Centre in Nairobi.
I work as a Community Development Officer whereas my duties are to purchase, sort and distribute monthly food hampers for 74 families and tuition needs for over 150 students. Also to communicate regularly with the HFL project manager, provide reporting, and conduct regular onsite visits to monitor project activities just to mention a few.
I love working with HFL since I have seen what they do and how they have impacted many lives in the community. It has also been a good experience for me while hosting the teams that visit Kakamega and Nairobi as this has made me closer to them aand helped me get to know them better.
It is such a blessing to be part of the Hungry For Life Team.
Be blessed,
Everlyne
