Cambodia
After years of civil war and genocide, Cambodia’s economy has started to progress.
Cambodia is a country located in the southern portion of the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia.
With a population of over 16.6 million, Cambodia is the 68th most populous country in the world. Rebuilding from decades of civil war, Cambodia has seen rapid progress in its economy and human resources. Strong garment and textiles, agriculture, construction, and tourism sectors has led to foreign investments and international trade.
Despite the rapid advancement of resources, Cambodia remains one of the poorest countries in Asia, and long-term economic development remains a daunting challenge inhibited by endemic corruption, limited educational opportunity, high income inequality and poor job prospects.
Hungry For Life supports our international partners in Cambodia with a focus on educational development.
