Our day in Kenya was truly unforgettable! We began our morning with excitement, leaving our hotel in Nairobi and heading to Shiphrah Center, a remarkable child care center supporting over 80 orphans. There, our team had the privilege of hearing stories from resilient children whose lives have been transformed by this center, and from Eva, who along with her mother Martha, dedicates herself to running this safe haven.
The children touched our hearts as they sang beautiful songs and recited verses, with the littlest ones clinging warmly to the ladies in our group. We were thrilled to surprise them with a treat of KFC chicken and fries—a simple gesture that brought so much joy!
After a fulfilling visit, we hurried to the airport for a short flight to Kisumu and continued with a scenic drive to Siaya, where we’ll spend the next few days visiting various projects. As we arrived, Bishop Silas welcomed us with open arms, riding with us to Siaya and sharing his inspiring journey of building a ministry that has uplifted countless lives.
In the evening, we were welcomed into his home, greeted by vibrant songs, dances, and flowers from young students. Under an outdoor tent, we met with about 60 dedicated board and committee members who introduced themselves and shared their passion for the ministry’s mission. We ended the day sharing a meal and heartfelt stories, deeply moved by the incredible Kenyans creating a brighter future for their communities. What an inspiring day filled with warmth, joy, and hope for tomorrow!
