A Day of Connection and Hope in Seje Village

Heading

Today was a journey of connection, learning, and inspiration. Our morning began with a team breakfast, reflecting on our experiences at Shiphrah Home, setting a tone of gratitude as we headed to Seje village.
At Seje School, though quiet due to break, we learned of the school’s pressing need for funding. With a partner’s support cut in half, there’s an urgent call for resources to sustain student meals and teacher salaries. Nearby, we visited the farm, witnessing the hard work of sustaining pigs, chickens, and crops amid drought—a reminder of resilience in the face of scarcity.
We made a quick stop at the equator which was a neat experience. We then trekked downhill to the Seje water project, where we met George and his wife, Josinta, whose wish for a waterline close to home showed us the depth of their daily challenges.
Some more touching moments came with our visit to Sylvester’s family and Sarah, a widow, and her daughter Grace. Each shared their stories with warmth and gratitude, reminding us of the power of community.
An ice cream stop on the way home lifted our spirits before we gathered for dinner and evening devotions. Today, we were inspired by the quiet strength of Seje’s people, leaving us humbled and motivated to support their hope for a brighter future.
