Yesterday, before the competition at the batey, we gathered all the children to share some exciting news. We were going to host a fun contest where the child who brought in the most water bottles would win a prize! When we arrived this morning, we were greeted by a towering pile of plastic water bottles – it was truly impressive!
As part of our clinic's last day, we had four patients who needed house calls, so we organized two teams to visit them. After that, we opened the clinic and, in just half a day, managed to see 118 patients. Some of them even received dental care!
Later, we enjoyed a community lunch together, which included plenty of chicken, rice mixed in with plenty of vegetables from
the donated Gleaners product, and to everyone's delight, ice cream for dessert. The kids were absolutely thrilled!
After serving over 200 lunches, we awarded prizes to the top four contestants who collected the most water bottles and garbage. It turned out to be a wild but rewarding idea! Everyone who participated received a small gift as well, and we concluded the day with more ice cream, which both kids and adults loved.
Saying goodbye was the hardest part. Tears were shed as we reflected on the faithfulness of God and the love we experienced throughout the week. Ana, one of the community leaders, shared a sentiment that will forever resonate with me: "The love we have experienced from you this week and your prayers will sustain us through the dark days ahead as we continue our commitment to serve."
As we wrap up this incredible journey, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who followed and supported our mission. Your encouragement and generosity made a significant impact, enabling us to bring joy and care to the community. Thank you for standing with us; we couldn't have done it without you! Your support has uplifted our spirits and strengthened the bonds of love and hope within the community we served. We look forward to sharing more stories and experiences from this journey as we continue to make a difference together. Together, we can keep the spirit of this mission alive and continue to touch lives in meaningful ways.
