A day of service and God’s love

The day began with the warmth of the Caribbean sunshine, a reflection of God’s unwavering presence. When we arrived at Vacsa, patience and anticipation awaited us, setting the tone for a day full of purpose and love.
Our morning devotion came from 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, reminding us that we are all threads in the grand tapestry of Christ’s body. Each thread, though small, is crucial to creating the masterpiece God has designed. This truth came alive today as our team brought together diverse talents and hearts to serve.
We had one dentist, three prolotherapy doctors, and five medical doctors, all working together seamlessly. Local Dominican men cut the boys’ hair, while women braided and combed the girls’ hair with care. Natasha, Zippy, and I washed the hair of 38 children, scrubbing away lice and dirt. The children’s smiles were priceless as they felt loved and cared for in such a simple yet profound way.
The medical team saw 218 patients, each with unique struggles, especially among the Haitian community. Their resilience and gratitude moved us deeply, reminding us of the privilege of serving in God’s name.
In addition to medical care, we distributed 10 food hampers  of vegetables to families in need. Muriel and Michelle thoughtfully guided the mothers on how to cook the vegetables and shared the health benefits of nutritious meals.
As the day ended, I reflected on how every act, no matter how small, contributed to a greater good. It was a day not just of productivity, but of being God’s hands and feet. Together, we wove a tapestry of hope, love, and faith—proof that when we serve in unity, His glory shines brightly.
