Several members of the team went along with Carlos to visit various projects in Santo Domingo while the rest of the team served in the clinic in Vasca.
This mission has been a powerful testament to faith, service, and the transformative power of connection.
In New Jerusalem, we were inspired by the community’s progress. The students, from age three to Grade 5, are excelling in bilingual language training, a testament to their dedication. The completion of the church’s concrete structure and bathrooms was a tangible sign of growth. Reuniting with the Pastor, his family, and the children we ministered to last year was a joy, as was uplifting the Grade 5 students with words of encouragement.
At Juan Tomas Community, I experienced an unexpected blessing. I was asked to teach an impromptu music lesson to students preparing for their Christmas program. This moment affirmed my calling to teach and mentor through the arts. Partnering with Hungry for Life and Proinfancia to envision youth training and development was deeply inspiring, planting seeds of generational impact.
In Santo Domingo, witnessing Days for Girls in action was breathtaking. Over 44,000 girls in the Dominican Republic have received hygiene kits over the past four years, thanks to a vision born in a garage and now expanding into a full facility. Meeting the founder of Hungry For Life, and seeing God’s hand in this mission, which touches 14 countries, was humbling.
Proverbs 18:16 reminds us that our gifts create room for purpose. This mission affirmed my calling to return, serving through music and arts while my daughter pursues her passion for teaching English. Together, we are committed to making a lasting impact.
