There are some experiences that stay with you long after the trip has ended, and so far our adventures in Boracay, Philippines, seem like they're going to be one of those.

Our trip had a clear and meaningful purpose: to help build homes for those in need in Boracay. Each day we've arrived on-site, the sense of achievement grows as we've made significant progress on constructing the houses. It's been amazing to see the plans come to life and to know that we're contributing to something that would have such a positive, long-lasting impact on the community.

One of the most rewarding moments today was when we completed the first wall of one of the homes. The highlight came when we showed Lea Lynn the painting itself of the butterfly she'd been desperately waiting for. Her smile said it all – it was a priceless moment that reminded us why we were there. The joy of knowing that our efforts were going to make a real difference was heartwarming and humbling.

Later in the day we got to go fishing with some of the fishermen on their boat. We were taught that here in Boracay, fishing roods werent the strategy. It's plastic bottles that they wrap the string around. We caught a few, all with their own beautiful, cool and vibrant colors. It wasn’t just about catching fish though; it was about learning and experiencing a way of life of these people.

Another personal milestone was that today was my first time snorkeling in the ocean! The underwater world of Boracay is simply breathtaking. As I swam over the coral reefs, I was surrounded by vibrant fish and the beauty of the ocean’s ecosystem. It felt like I had entered a whole new world. The water was warm, and the visibility was incredible, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the experience. For someone who had always dreamed of snorkeling but had never done it before, it was a moment of pure joy and awe.

To cap off our adventures for the day, we ended the day with a unique and fun activity – crab hunting. As nightfall descended, we decided to head to the beach to try and catch some crabs just for fun and to have experienced it. Armed with flashlights and some determination, we ventured along the beach, carefully searching for the crabs that hid in the sand. We laughed as we scurried around, trying to catch them. In the end, we didn’t catch too many, but the experience was memorable.

Our time in Boracay so far has been the perfect blend of hard work, adventure, and connection. It was about more than just the beautiful beaches and the stunning landscapes – it's about the people we've met, the things that we've learned, and the memories we've made together.

After today and all our adventures, I know that this trip will be an experience that I remember for the rest of my lifetime.
