Day two in Nsanje

Well our day started out with extremely loud thunder during the night and a little bit of a sweaty morning with no power. We then had a quick breakfast a little after 6 of bread, chips (aka fries), and delicious instant coffee! We left the Kinzibi lodge a half hour later than planned, but I found out that's fine cause we are on Malawian time. (Slow and steady wins the race) Then a short half hour drive to the Chigmurkure Childcare centre.

We arrived at the centre with cooler weather which was a nice change. There was a trench dug, for the water lines to various buildings, thanks to a couple of the garden guys for staying late the day before to get that accomplished! Next we split into teams and started our projects. One team finished the 2nd shade nursery, while the others worked on getting the water lines installed and the bigger water tank plumbed in. In the middle of these projects we were hit with pouring rain!! Definitely much needed and great after waking up sweaty, we were now cooled off and ready to go for some more sunshine.

Stephanie, Susan, Autumn and I got to go around to all the classrooms and take updated pictures of the children for their Timotheos Sponsorship. It was a joy to see all the smiles, crazy poses, and the different characters of each and every one of them!

Left the Chigmurkure centre around 4 and made a quick pit stop by the Nyamithuthu Childcare centre to see the pumphouse that Southern Irrigation helped build. Grabbed some cold drinks before heading back to the Kinzibi lodge. Ending with a delicious supper of chicken, rice, chips and some nice rain! Beyond blessed today with everything that we were able to accomplish and everyone we met!!
