Heading
Last blog! Monday morning started out calm and quiet. We had our last breakfast and closing devotional at Home Up before hitting the road. We quickly swung by a local coffee shop, which was hidden down a dirt road and around a construction zone. It was the most delicious smell of coffee ever and the ladies were working hard to get the beans reading for roasting. After the coffee store, we headed to KFC to get our last milkshakes. We thought we were in the clear, but ice cream machines are ice cream machines and it was broken (classic) so we opted for a round of fries for everyone instead. We then proceeded to the Timotheos head quarters to meet the team there and get a tour. Derek and Colton took a look at the water tanks and pipes; so looking forward for another irrigation system next year! We were pleasantly surprised to see M'busa, the pastor from the Chigamukire center who was there for a meeting. Filling up the fuel tank was next on our list, then we were off to the airport. We arrived in good time then bade our farewells to Henry, our bus driver. After getting all checked in at the airport, a few of us slowed down (pang'ono) and had a final pineapple Fanta in Malawi. We all said our goodbyes to Marc and the wonderful country of Malawi before boarding the plane and taking off to home sweet home, Canada. The plane took us to Mazambique, then Ethiopia to board our next flight. This was where we parted ways with Ruben, our group organizer from Hungry for Life, as he was staying in Ethiopia for a few more days of work. Our next flight was Toronto bound but we had to stop in Rome to fuel up. Once in Toronto, we all enjoyed a nice last breakfast of burgers. Here we parted ways, each of us heading to our plane taking us to either Saskatoon, Calgary, and Vancouver. This trip will be a part of us for a long time! That's all for now as we all have to nsanga sanga to our planes, except for Derek who gets to wait on his 6 hour delayed plane all alone. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible and made our stay as comfortable as it was!
