Today is the day that group one of the Timothy Christian team will leave from Seattle to The Dominican Republic. Tomorrow morning the other part of the team will leave from Vancouver.
The team is ready to go, the projects are organized, the crafts are prepared, the project funds are raised, and the bags are packed.
The team will work alongside HFL's partner Carlos Pimentel in the New Jerusalem community and the Batey Villages in the sugar cane fields. Together with his team the team will serve the people in the communities. Most of them are Haitian people who live in extreme poverty and don't have access to health care, education, clean water, and food.
The team will work together on construction projects in the communities, serving the church with a community lunch, organizing a children Christmas party, and they will be participating in the Proinfancia Days For Girls feminine hygiene kits distribution and training. All to connect with and serve the people in the communities.
Follow this blog to read what they are experiencing while they are in the field.
