Hello everyone,
We started off the day with some much needed Dominican coffee and breakfast. We then headed over to the Bateye Vasca village where the girls were quickly promoted to start the Christmas program. The program was lots of fun and filled with lots of laughter and stickers. The kids were more the ecstatic about the gifts that they received.
Meanwhile, Tanasha and Laurene headed over to the Bateye Margarita village where they were able to take part in the distribution of menstrual health kits through the Days for Girls program. It was so insightful to see the impact it would have on the community.
Amidst all this busyness the guys worked on the beginning stages of a house .
Then for lunch we had a special visitor, a massive frog.
After lunch the group continued working on the house while some girls entertained the kids. The villagers were quite surprised to see girls working.
We ended the day with a special meeting with the project leaders who talked more in depth about the needs of the village and the work that they set out to fulfill those needs. They also shared parts of their testimony and how the Lord brought them to where they are now.
Before we left,Thomas presented the community with a first aid kit and the villagers prompted us to try fresh coconut milk.
Today was good (:
