Day 33 – April 11
In your day-to-day life and work, where do you most want God's guidance?
It seems like we are presented with so many choices each day.
How will I respond to this frustrating text?
How much money will I spend on myself today?
What will I do with my anxious thoughts?
And over time, we are also faced with larger questions about how our choices relate to the bigger picture.
How do I steer the direction of my life?
How can I live a good and meaningful life?
What impact does God want me to have?
As followers of Jesus, we’re invited to pay attention. It can be in these big and small choices that we feel the tug of war between our human nature and the will of God in us. In our humanness, we are often drawn to what is easy, self-promoting and self-gratifying in the moment. Other times, we do what we think is the right thing, denying ourselves and prioritizing the things of God, and we still miss the mark.
As we fumble our way through this complex life, we can rest in knowing that we have an all-powerful and all-knowing Father who loves to guide our steps. Our role is to be still enough to listen and lean on God's voice and direction. In this season of Lent, which area in your life, the big or small decisions, can you open yourself up to the direction of Christ? Consider making or adding to a plan for how you can posture yourself to receive the Father’s guidance in your life.
Day 34 - April 12
What is one attitude or behaviour God would love to help you transform?
Sunday - April 13
Who might you need to forgive (in the same way that Christ has forgiven you)?
