Day 25 – April 2
How would you describe your relationship with God right now?
Is your relationship with God close or distant? If it feels distant, remember that God hasn’t moved—you have. He is always near, always faithful, always inviting you back into His presence. James 4:8 reminds us, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” No matter how far you’ve drifted, His arms are open, waiting for you to return.
A strong relationship with God doesn’t happen by accident. It requires intentionality—spending time in His Word, seeking Him in prayer, and surrendering every part of your life to Him. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 7:24-25, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
Storms in life are inevitable - trials, temptations, disappointments – but, when we are firmly rooted in Christ, He holds us fast. Psalm 18:2 declares, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.” A close relationship with God is our greatest source of strength and stability.
This is at the core of why we fast, to remember these truths.
If your faith feels weak or distant, that’s alright. God is not waiting for you to become perfect. He simply wants your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 promises, “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
What might it look like to seek God with all your heart? What one step could you take today to draw near to Him, to press into His presence? Build your life on the firm foundation of Christ, and no matter what storms come, He will never let you go. Would this bring us all encouragement today.
