5:30 in the morning. Our group was tired, but there was a sense of excitement and anticipation for the adventure we were about to depart on. We had been preparing for this trip for months, and now we were finally going to see this work in action.
After packing our bags into the van, we left camp and headed off to the ferry bound for Vancouver, where we met Nate and Lydia at the airport. We then flew to Los Angeles, and will soon be making our way to Guatemala City. We've had lots of fun exploring the airports together, proving that five-hour layovers can be fun when you're with good people.
Some memorable moments from the day were Ty rapping the entire bus ride, Kalan and Maia's sibling rivalry, Emily hiding butter in Jalina's wallet and also ordering super spicy chicken at Panda Express (she has the lowest spice tolerance out of all of us), and experiencing the most gorgeous sunset upon arrival to LA.
It was a long day, but we are all still incredibly excited for what God has in store for us in the coming two weeks. It will be stretching, but we know that God will give us the energy and patience for what we need to do, and that he will use our work for his glory.
