Today we returned to the Ensenada hills where we had served breakfast to the locals. This time we came to start the big project of building a house for a young family!
It was lovely to meet the husband, wife, and children who are expecting a new home. Both the husband and his wife are in their early twenties and have young children. This new house will be perfect as before they were living in a trailer for approximately 9 months. This home will be a great blessing as a day of work is just enough to bring food on the table for that day.
We worked from 10 am until 5 pm. There was three groups of people, one painting, one framing, and lastly one cutting.
The family chose the colours to paint their house and they chose a beautiful bright green!
The team worked on the house with a group of the girls from El Refugio and a couple of locals, including the young family and their pastor!
Finally, when we arrived back, one of the girls from El Refugio led the entire group for devotion time. following this, Eliza led the girls through a prayer journal activity. Today was a lot of hard work but praise be to God that in four days this young family will make this house into their home!
