By assisting in operational expenses, ATEK carries out their mandate to serve God and their fellow man. ATEK seeks to contribute to the holistic and self-sustaining development of Quechua communities by providing training and developing tools that will aid in evangelization and in strengthening Quechua families, churches and communities.
Completion of training brings sadness...and joy
The dedicated staff at ATEK continues to work hard to spread the gospel. There are currently six staff, all with unique specialties and focuses - from marriage counseling to literacy. The community they are working in is hours from their head office, and they each spend multiple weeks each month in rural communities. Join us in praying for them as they spend themselves on behalf of the people in these hard-to-reach areas.
A woman from the last community they worked in expressed the following: “I wept when they finished their term here, but I was joyful because I knew other people would receive encouragement.” In addition to the practical skills that ATEK staff members teach, the friendship and community they provide for Christians in rural areas is incredibly valuable.
