With the political unrest in Kenya affecting transport and exportation, it has been a long wait for the arrival of the equipment to get the maize mill at St Nicholas grain mill on-site. Today the truck pulled in with all the bits and pieces needed to bring this project to life, and assembly began.
Testing will follow over the next days and then, after a little more financial investment and a lot more sweat equity, the maize mill will be ready to effect change in the community as farmers will have a local mill, profits will be used to support KCDO projects, and families will have a nearby source of freshly ground grains for their cooking needs.
