Lauri Alward

Lauri is so blessed to be able to live out her hearts calling at Hungry For Life.

“What an honor and privilege it is to work alongside our partners in their projects as they give their all to their communities to bring hope, healing and the love of Christ; and how awesome it is to be part of teams that go, give and bless generously, and are shaped and changed by the love and grace they receive.”

Across the years there have been ways to be part of change in the world: sponsoring children with Compassion Canada, leading short term mission trips with youth groups, supporting overseas workers, and being part of church mission committees.

She heard about HFL in 2008 shortly after moving to BC, when she and her husband began attending Hillside Church in Coquitlam. Hillside was working with a community in Kenya and they went along on the team. Lauri was so impressed with the way HFL created a partnership between the communities in Seje and Coquitlam that she came back from the trip wondering how she could be more involved. It took a few more years of adventure and growth, but they have made it to a place in life where the chance to join up with this incredible organization has become a reality.

Lauri has been married to Brian for 42 love-filled years. They have four adult offspring, two daughter in laws and a son in law, and two beautiful grandchildren, making their clan rich and full.
