Shekinah Band Worship & Compassion Road Trip
May 15, 2012
Recently the Shekinah Band had the opportunity to travel to across BC and into Alberta and lead worship at two churches that HFL works with, in order to build into these congregations and promote the compassionate work that each one is doing. The band first landed at Cranbrook Alliance Church and spent a spirit-filled night with an intimate crowd, worshipping God through music and hearing about their work in Uganda with a child sponsorship organization.
Next was a stop in Alberta to minister to Cochrane Alliance Church through two different events. The band led the worship time in their Sunday morning service, which focused on the church's work both in Guatemala and in Russia. Later that evening the church hosted a fundraiser to raise money for their upcoming trip to Guatemala, which the band provided entertainment for, including songs by their original African Drum Line ensemble. It was a very successful event, with many people getting on board and supporting their team.
As time was spent getting to know the people in each of these churches, it was evident of their desire and passion to build into these communities and help those in need, demonstrating the love of Christ through action and word.
